6066 Clamshell upper hinge adjust

Still trying to figure out why my upper hatch is hanging too low. The assembly manual calls for hinge # 3773157, and my truck came with hinge # 3773160. The hatch hangs down 1/2" too far but can be forced up by pushing in and up on the top of the hatch with alot of force. There is NO way to adjust upper movement due to hinge bolted at the top of the hatch. NO the bodies not bent. Any help would be greatly appreciated. NO the hinges are not worn.

Is the hatch in good condition? Mine has stress cracks around the hinge mounts. One side hangs lower due to a hinge that has some slop.

I will look at mine but it sounds like you need to push the hinge in farther towards the front of the truck. I will see what my part number is later on.

pushing in further doesn't make that much of a difference. Metal and hinges perfect!

Just checked, hinges are all the way forward!Looks like top of hatch should go further in about 3/4 of an inch.

Don is this the orig upper door and hinges or off a newer truck or a mixture
if it bolts in flush with the door and the same to the upper door jamb then it will be in the hinge. when it is off the truck does the hinge have the full range of travel, you say that there is no wear. could there be anything either in the door or jamb mount that could be restricting the movement or in the hinge itself. could be just one of those stupid things that you don't see and you may have to remove the hinges and go through step to step to maybe see, are the hinges ambidextrous or is there a r and l side and you have them reversed .
other thing is they are out of a newer one and there are different lengths .
someone gave me the wrong pushrods once for a 371 olds from a 324. there was not much difference but enough to cause grief and wasn't that easy to discover as you thought that everything was right

same part number so ambidextrous. hinges were stiff so i took them apart (you can only remove on side that has a bolt), glass beaded them primed painted, oiled and check for slop and free motion. When the hatch is open the bolts at the top stop about 1/4 inch away from drip moulding. Someone must know if the numbers are the same or not. Wish I had a set with the 157 last 3 numbers just to try on.
