UPDATED! Info on gauge pods for our trucks...

Hello all! The company I contacted is Lo-tek, Inc. a firm which only produces gauge pods for vehicles. Check 'em out at www.gaugepods.com.

Min. order is 30 per project. If we want three pod units, we need 30 orders. If we want two pod units, we need thirty orders. As I understand it, we can't mix and match different orders. All orders must be prepaid for project to start. Pricing will be determined after receipt of OEM pillar. Most of their pods range from $40-$60. AFTER PROJECT IS COMPLETE THE PRICE WILL INCREASE. In other words, if you don't get in on the preorder, you may pay more in the future.

I would send in the OEM pillar out of my Suburban. Is anyone positive that the pillars are EXACTLY the same on the '91 Subs and the rest of the '73-'87 trucks? Need to know for sure. I figure we'll have them made for standard 2 1/16" gauges because of many gauges from many manufacturer's in this size. My interior is dark blue, they will make up to three colors but will then need donor pillars to do color matches. My pillar would be sacrificed, which is fine with me because it has a crack at the top anyway.

I would be the "project leader". IE, all info channels through me so they don't have numerous people to contact. Total time from receipt of final preorder would be two to two and a half months (approx). I won't get any special pricing or favors for being the project leader, just all the headaches .

It's up to all of you. Let me know if you're interested. I think this will be killer. I would like a three gauge pod. Respond here if you're in and we'll get going. I'll have to send in my a-pillar first to get definite pricing if at least 30 people will confirm interest.

Ok, I'm totally interested. but is it for a complete pillar cover, or a pod that mounts to the pillar cover? I'm in for a two gauge pod too.

I would be interested, but I would want to see pictures first, which doesnt sound possible.
Also for that $40-60 would we be getting only the drivers side, or would we get both sides, but only the drivers has pods?
If we dont get both sides Im probly not interested, but we'll see.
a (2) Gauge pod that holds 2-1/16" gauges sounds fine to me.

How much does a stock pillar cover go for?
No catalogs here at work

two guage pods? What are you guys thinking? There are so many guages these trucks need added! Heck, I already have 4 gauges just sitting in the cab on the dash of my 79 with nowhere to put em

But it looks like everyone wants two guage pods. Ill take a 3 if we get enough people, a two if thats all we can do.

I want a two pod. Three if you want but it looks like only the two will get enough people. I want it in black - what color does everyone else want?

put me down for the three gauge pod first, if can't get enough for the three pod then i guess i'll settle for the two pod.
i been wanting one of these for a long time.
ohh and i think the difference may be whenever they changed the dash pad. i was gonna put the pillar trim outta my 76 in my 84, it fit but it was diferent down where it met the dash and didn't fit the dash right. was 81 the first year of the change for the dash pads?

Well, first we need the thirty preorders--we're slowly on our way there. It looks like the two gauge pod is the choice of most, so that's most likely what we'll get, if we can meet the minimum amt. req'd to preorder.
I'll have to send my A-pillar in first so we know exactly what the cost will be. I figured I'd send all the money in together, through me as the "project leader", as they only want one point of contact to simplify matters on their end. Now, I'm fairly new here so I can understand if there's some hesitation on the part of anyone to send me the money. That's understandable--and smart. But if everyone sends a USPS money order or something like that, it can be tracked and the US Postal Service takes that fraud very seriously. The Postal Inspectors would track me down very quickly. Now, I can also e-mail Lo-tek again and see if its possible for ya'll to either PayPal your moey to them, use credit cards, etc. Let me know what you're thinking.
Keep up the good work. We need more preorders spoken for--AT LEAST thirty. REMEMBER: The price will most likely go up once this becomes a normal item. We can have 30+ preorders with no problem.

To pre-order, just say what style and color on this thread, and your good to go if we get 30 orders.

For the members on other boards too - post this on other boards so we can get enough people - just this forum might not be enough, so SPREAD THE WORD!

I'm in for a two pod. Common color okay. It will be repainted anyway.
