67 static drop?

Trying to find post but no luck here guys. I am wanting to know how low you can static drop a 67 SWB C10 with 15x8's and not willing to notch at this time. Looking for any info on this subject which means exhaust might come into play etc. Thanks in advance Brndon

you could do a 2.5/3", 2.5/4, or 3/4 without notching. They do make a 3 and 4" drop spring for the rear. front can be done with a spring or spindle

15x8's w/how much back spacing? What size tires? Same size front & rear? Same back spacing front & rear?

15x8 ralleys from 83 C10 one with like 12 slots same back spacing,same tires from and rear 275/60/15,83 front end under truck. I have cut one coil off in front and jeep springs in back right now but truck is getting some love in garage right now with finishing up engine swap and body work. I figure this set up is not low enough and probably won't be great ride or safe when hauling mulch,engine,scrap metal to recylcer etc. I know right now with jeep TJ springs it is not close to bump stop so thinking I maybe I can go 5 in rear. Any thoughts guy or help. Thanks Brandon

I have a 3/5 drop with 15x8 wheels. 255/60 on the front 255/70 rear. I had to trim the bumpstops because the rear would bottom out over speed bumps.

The 28" tire size up front will limit the amount of drop possible more that the rear would be a concern. Also, the 8" ralleys have approx 4" of back spacing which puts the outside edge of that 28" tire closer to the wheel-well lip vs a wheel w/more BS.

With your current 15x8's, the 5-6" rear drop wouldn't be a problem w/the 275-60's. The 6" would not be an issue if you utilized a cheap bag set-up vs those Jeep coils (or any other model 'swap' coil). Cheap rear bag set-up meaning 2x bags, DOT airline, & 2x schrader valves to fill them. A compressor, small tank, & manual paddle valves can be added @ a later date for a more user friendly set-up.

The front drop is contingent on the wheels & tires. Shorter tires and different wheels (size/BS) would likely be needed to achieve 4-5" of drop. Less drop means choosing one or the other. More drop means you'll need more (different tire size, wheel size, back-spacing).

So be honest what would you recomm with budget in mind on best setup waay to go Scoti? Give me a full break down on what you would do please.

Be honest w/me..... what drop do you REALLY want?

If your 83 front is still using stock spindles, ditch them & get some dropped spindles. Western Chassis, BellTech, McGauhys, DJM's or CPP's.... any of these will be money well spent. They are not cheap vs cutting another coil but there is much more return on your investment w/better drivability, easier alignment, & improved geometry. Add a HD sway bar off of a 3/4 or 1-ton truck w/some Energy Suspension poly bushings & get some decent mono-tube gas shocks.

For the rear, toss the jeep stuff. They're too soft for a truck to still be used as a truck.
Get some 1.5" lowering blocks & 6.5" dbl convoluted air bags & swap them in. Use the previously mentioned budget air set-up, the blocks, some shock relocators (or modify you existing shock brackets), & an adjustable Panhard bar bracket to re-center everything once dropped. The rear bags will offer lower ride height vs the jeep coils, support more weight, & ride just as good (if not better).

This combo gets you as low as you can go w/o c-notches (it will work w/notches too) & allows you to pull a car trailer behind thats loaded to your braking capacity w/o issue.

Swap the 275's up front for 245's or 255's. Easier to fit w/more drop. Save the 275's to swap onto the rears when the time comes to stretch your $$.

3/5 for now. Which comapny would you buy spindles from for the 83 front end and what drop on them, would you do 2 spindle and 1 inch spring in front? So bags any you would recomm yourself and where is best spot for shrader valves till I could get more $ for nice setup? Blocks I have heard of them etc but where can I find a set for a 67 C10? Got rough budget price is you could please? I would resell jeep springs course. Thanks for help guys Brandon

I have great confidence that Scoti can direct you in the correct direction but I will add this. During lowering my truck I noticed that with my 15s and a 255/60 and 255/70 it was better to only have 1" difference in the rake for a better stance. Consider doing a 3/4 or a 4/5 drop. Our trucks have a 2" rake from the factory. Leveling the stance looks good to some while a mild rake looks better to others. If you do a 3/5 drop and dont like the leveled stance consider the 1" rake.
