This little find...
Been a while since I've been on, but I poked around the site a little last night looking for some info and I thought ya'll might like to see this cool little ride I picked up a few months ago. Bought it for parts, but it was just too cool to part. Everything on this truck works from cigarette lighter to winch, except the blower motor. A/C compressor kicks in but needs at least a charge, and the fan of course. Original BB runs like a champ!
Enjoy. |

Re: This little find...
HA HA - Awesome company name on the door. Can you provide a close up so we can read the whole thing? Too funny.
Really, looks like great truck with a unique work body. Does the wrecker arm fold over & hide in the bed? What do you think was the original purpose of the bed? Maybe as a repo man truck? The blower should be an easy fix but the truck looks great. Great find & good luck!! |

Re: This little find...
That sure is a nice one. Custom Deluxe/30 w/402! I put those exact mirrors on my tow truck. I'm wondering how that boom is supported. More info on the "toe" rig is what I'm curious about.

Re: This little find...
Thanks guys. It really is a cool old truck with a lot of history I'm sure. The bed is all homemade. The boom is removable, but doesn't fold up. It just slides down into a fitted hole about a foot. It's done pretty well. It also has a big boom that bolts to the bed that's huge. This was definately a multipurpose rig. Holes in the bed for an OXY/ACTY rig, had a fifth wheel at some point and is set up for a gooseneck. I have the boom but I took it off because we've taken the truck to a few shows and the boom is just kind of big for that. I hate it, but gonna have to put newer style wheels on it because the split rings are basically welded together with rust.
Here's a few more pics, one right after I loaded it for the road home (it was COVERED in vines), and there is a .com for that name. |

Re: This little find...
I don't have any real good picks of the Wrecker setup on this machine but here's one more that is a different angle.

Re: This little find...
That's really a versatile set up. I guess the long boom is for lifting camels. Is there really much demand for towing them around there?

Re: This little find...
That's a real neat setup, handy for pulling stuff around, but can still use the bed. If you get any more pics of the winch/boom setup, post them. I'm interested in building something like this...

Heck yeah! That is a classic! I had been wondering what had happened to you Dynomutt. Here are a couple of pics I took at the Good Guys at the Texas Motor Speedway. Keith |

Re: This little find...
Used to be a guy here local that had a bed like that on a 1975 or 1976 c-30 that he used all the time for towing. 2nd bed like that, that i have seen.

Re: This little find...
Thanks again guys. I designed the logo and had a local guy, Aaron aka "Crash", paint it. He does some nice work and he's a real good pinstriper. I'll try to remember to post up some pictures of the bed and stuff this weekend. We got all of the new wheels painted today and the new tires should be in tomorrow. Having to install new rear wheel studs because the old ones where too short. Gotta do a little work on those tomorrow and hopefully by Friday it will all be back together. I'll try to post up some pics with the new wheels and tires too. Hope it looks as good in person as it does in my head. We'll see...

Not sure if the truck will make it to Pate or not, but we're trying to get it out there.
