2WD to 4WD swap bolts

Hello all, am swapping all of the running gear brackets and transmission from a 89 chevy v3500 to a 91 gmc r3500 and was wondering what size and length bolts to use. I think i remember reading on a post they ar 7/16 but dont know the length. I was in lowes today and saw grade 8 bolts that were threaded all the way to the head with no shank and some that had way to much shank. So with that, what are the guys who have done the swap using?

Re: 2WD to 4WD swap bolts

I used grade 10.9 metric bolts. The rivet hole size was wrong for regular bolts.
If you use regular bolts you will have to drill out all the bracket holes to to get a better fit. The holes that already had bolts do not need to be metric though.
My bolt size was M10 and used a few different lengths.
