Can you ID this good? USED motorhome?

Stopped by a salvage yard that is being cleaned up by a crusher yesterday. This was sitting there. It it a 58 or 59???

I did pick up a good 66 parts truck while I was there. Pics coming soon. The weather here is supposed to warm up a little on Friday.

Single headlight would be 1955 second series -1957. Dual headlights for 58-59. Im leaning more towards 2nd series 55 or 56 by looking at the grill.

Re: Can you ID this good? USED motorhome?

Thanks for the info everyone. Looking at the wheels, is this a 1 ton? Were suburbans made in a 1 ton? Maybe heavier?

The man who owns the scrap yard and motorhome is retiring and selling out. When he first started the yard in the mid 70's, he said that he lived in this with his wife and 2 kids.

Wish I had the $ to buy and fix it. That way I'd have a portable man cave!

they never made suburbans in a 1 ton. they only made 1 ton panels. only suburbans had side windows, other than after market ones and you would be able to tell the difference from a mile away

If you decide you can't live without it I can get you contact info. My wife is insisting I finish at least 1 project before I start or bring home another. This could be a peach if you had a grocery sack full of $100's and a couple of years free.

Re: Can you ID this good? USED motorhome?

I believe it's a 55 or 56 GMC. They changed the grill slightly for the 57 GMC taking out the lower bulbous section and replacing it with chrome bars.
