Gas tank problem

My '73 has duel gas tanks and I am always having trouble with the crossover switch (electric), all the rubber hoses. Does any one know of one large tank that would work. I have to pull both tanks to fix gas gage anyway.

If you're having any sort of problems like me then the solution will be easier than installing a single tank.

I went on one tank only for a year. It wouldn't switch over. I finally replaced the switch and cleaned the connections on the wiring at the crossover and it was fixed.

The guage problem is usually the guage itself and not the sending units. If your truck measures a partial tank when it's actually full on both tanks then it's probably the guage. There are plenty at the junkyard. Hopefully you can find a good one.

What problems are you having specifically? Maybe we can help and keep you from having to drop the tanks if possible.
