Showing where I cut the dash to make room for my head unit without building a custom console. Its not perfect, but its also not done.
Ask any questions if you have em. |

Jeff, thats why they make car sterios remotes now
I have one for my panasonic and I use it all the time. Once you have a remote you'll never go back, I know I wont! r0lf- Thanks for posting the pictures. I was the one who is interested in mounting one of those newer dvd/sterio's w/ tv screen there. If one was to go about installing a sterio or accessory there, what might one be on the look out for? Any tips or advise you could give after doing the install?

How did you cut the hole? Also how is the HU held in place? I am looking to install my HU soon and am undecided on how to do it.

Its actually not a long reach at all since the track controls are on the left side and not the right side.
A remote would be quite nice, and im upgrading to a Panasonic MP3 unit pretty soon and that includes a remote. Its being held in the back by a custom bracket that attaches to the dash. Its sitting on a block I made that I sat on top of the cigarette lighter perch and its not going anywhere. I really like my setup and I think its a million times more convenient than the stock location, for the passenger and driver. An AM radio might work in the stock location, but a new aftermarket CD player just doesnt. |

Just replace that with something like this and your set.
If I get the money or a good deal on one, thats the plan.

Yup, that would be the perfect place for a LCD. But that just isnt my taste. Its more of a distraction than a useful thing for me.
