1979 Chevrolet Gas Tank

Hello guys, I have a 1979 Chevy truck that has 2 saddle tanks. Is there any conversions to an in-frame tank? A tank inside the frame, not outside under the door. I don't feel safe with a tank right underneath my door, hopefully this is a better alternate.

A site with a link provided, or a number would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Re: 1979 Chevrolet Gas Tank

I've read some guys bought the same year tanks from Blazers, and converted it since they have the same frame. Has anyone tried this?

Re: 1979 Chevrolet Gas Tank

My C-10 came with a single saddle tank. Believe me, not enough gas to feed a hungry 454. I could barely drive from one side of L.A. to another without stopping to gas up. I went here for the answer:

http://www.transferflow.com/

Although I had to relocate my spare, I got a 26 gallon tank kit which now allows me to get across L.A. County without running on fumes. And at $4.00 a gallon....

Makes sense, I'm not comfortable with saddle tanks, my father had a bad experience with them. This is a better alternative.

If you are willing, could you send me a Private Message relative to his bad experience.

Thanks in advance -
