Wider door seal?

Most door seal including what I have just purchased does not fit tight at the windshield post and elsewhere that it should !

Attached is a pic of how I believe it should fit.,maybe its later style seal ?



Hope some one has a solution to my dilemma.

Not sure what the question is!
Do you mean the seal is loose at that point and not glued to the post or do you mean that the seal doesn't do it's job and seal the door?

When you slip the seal on,there is a large gap between the edge of the seal and most noticeable the windshield post etc. The edge of the seal could be a 1/4 inch wider and it would look right.
Attached are some pics of the seal temporarily in place on, and of the seal itself.
Maybe the seal is low quality ....? Comparing to the original picture posted,my seal is not the same product

Hey if the seal will go on and stay with adhesive.. then go with it, the better question is "will your doors shut with that (shown in pic) seal in place".
That is the real issue with new seals. Most people are complaining about the doors not wanting to shut, or there seals making the doors hard to open due to the overly thick replacement/aftermarket seals. ME included I am about ready to use a hot knife on this "3rd set of seals (all from different companies), and make them thinner!
It really $ucks that, after all this work, I can't get a pair of door seals that work well!
I mean really.... you have to slam the doors on your "pride and Joy" every time you get in, and almost tear off the door handles trying to get out! Come on.... this is crazy

P.S. you seal looks different than all 3 of the ones I have tried!

I tried installing door seals from Steele Rubber products and they fit like that. They also wouldn’t conform to the dogleg, so I went back to my 10 year old door seals from Chevy Duty (ClassicParts) and they almost completely fill the body indentation. They are sponge seals whereas the Steele gaskets were almost a hard rubber tube by comparison.



And here’s a shot of the outside of the driver side:



To the best of my research nobody makes a seal that matches the original.

I have recently received seal samples from Sofseal.They clearly to date make the best replacement product on the market.The profile of the rubber and how easily it will compress when squeezed sold me the moment I tried it in the jamb.

I am currently fighting with getting my doors to shut, and I am using "softseal". I agree that the profile of the seal looks more like the OEM seal, but the doors will still not shut without slamming them!
Really... After 3 yrs of hard work and time I have to slam the flippen doors?
So now I am breaking new paint and trying to re adjust the doors to get them more acceptable, at this point running with the Jeep no door look is appealing!
But I don't give up easy! So tips are welcome!
Currently I did get them shut and they are now sitting under compression with hopes that they given in before I do!

When you get your seals in, ( its best to do this on a hot day ) and close your doors and leave them closed overnight into the next day, ensure the seal is good all the way around as the door is closed...they will take a set, it will get easier after few weeks.

If your cab is sealed really good it may help to crack a window when closing.
