4L80E Full Manual (NO COMPUTER)

WELL BOYS TIME HAS COME FOR ME TO ADDRESS MY TRANSMISSION SITUATION FOR MY 73 CHEVY STEPSIDE WITH A PRETTY STOUT SBC 406, AND THE WINNER IS 4L80E FULL MANUAL NO COMPUTER, I WANT THE OVERDRIVE AND TURBO 400 WITH GEAR VENDOR WAY TOO MUCH MONEY FOR ME. TRYING TO ACHIEVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS, DRAG RACING AND STREET DRIVING. THE WAY WE LIKE OUR WOMEN, A WOMAN IN THE STREETS BUT A FREAK IN THE BEDROOM. (LOL) (LOL). IT'S ALOT OF COMPANY OUT CLAIMING THIS AND THAT BUT IN THE LONG RUN IT TURNS OUT TO BE A JUNKYARD BUY WITH FRESH TRANSMISSION FLUID AND MAYBE A FILTER CHANGE.

I AM CURIOUS ABOUT THE (PATC) Performance Automotive and Transmission Center 4L80E LEVEL 3, $3395.00. PLUS SOME UPGRADES. MORE THAN I WANTED TO SPEND, FIRM BELIEVER YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I LIKE THE GEAR RATIO CHANGE AND DURABILITY OF THIS SO CALLED TRANSMISSION. STILL WILL HAVE TO GET A CONVERTER FOR THIS THING

http://www.transmissioncenter.net/4L80E.htm

LOOKING FOR SOME INPUT ON FINDING A BUILDER OR SHOP. ALSO ANY SUGGESTION FOR LOCAL SHOPS I AM IN THE BAY AREA WILLING TO GO AS FAR AS SAN DIEGO .

NOT INTERESTED IN MAD DOGG TRANSMISSIONS TOO MUCH "HE SAY AND SHE SAY" SURROUNDING HIS REP AND PRODUCTIONS

NOT INTERESTED IN MONSTER TRANSMISSION EITHER TOO MANY HORROR STORIES. I KNOW THERE ARE SOME GOOD OLE BOYS THAT CAN REALLY BUILD THIS MUTHA****** SHUT YOUR MOUTH.

Re: 4L80E Full Manual (NO COMPUTER)

A junkyard 4l80e with the manual valve body is probably plenty strong for anything that will be on the street. Find a junkyard trans and have it rebuilt. Add the manual valve body get a good torque converter and call it a day.

Re: 4L80E Full Manual (NO COMPUTER)

Not sure if Abruzzi does a lot of 80E's but his customer service is awesome!! I have a glide from him and can't say enough good things about him. Pump broke on me very early, he paid freight bother back to him and back to me and fixed it for free. Says he sees a couple pumps break a year. But completely stood behind it, as it should be.

There is also Mike's not too far from you and I have heard good things about him.

Also, Jake Shoe is big in to the 80e thing.

Re: 4L80E Full Manual (NO COMPUTER)

Is there any particular year to look for early models or late models. I was going to buy an ABRUZZI transmission turbo 400 with the transbrake $1500 not bad just wanted the overdrive and get one hf his 8" converter maybe $2400 with shipping.

SUPER 73 I KNOW CLOSE U CLOSE TO ME LET'S HOOK UP SOMETIME.

Looking for something that can really take a beating. Like I said before it will see about 70-90% track time.
