Question Did A Shim Come Factory Under The Automatic Trans Mount?

I have a 71 C-10 I'm converting to an automatic with a 350 turbo. Did a factory shim come under the mount? I bought a crossmember from a guy and he gave it to me with the crossmember. It is retangular shaped and has the 2 slots for the bolts an its about 1/8" thick. It looks to me like a factory stamp piece and not made by a person. I didn't know if these trucks come factory with this or not. Any Ideas?

Thanks

Interesting, I have probably disassembled 10 or more of these trucks and never come across a shim there. Learn something new everyday on this site

The one I have is shaped different. I can see the image on the crossmember where it was. It went between the mount and crossmember instead of the transmission and mount like the one pictured.

Re: Did A Shim Come Factory Under The Automatic Trans Mount?

I have used shims to change the driveshaft angle before so I assume that they were used to correct the driveshaft angle when necessary.

My 70 also has one. It was there when I pulled the Trans for rebuild so I put it back.

There's one in my 69 also. It's between the trans and the mount. The truck is a C20 with a 350 and TH400. It's original to the truck.
