what is this???where does it go??and do??

This has been hanging under the dash of my 62 K10 since the day I got it. Yanked the old carpet today, and got tired of dodging it. Appears to control a heater comp. or something, has a long stiff wire with a curly q at the end, and there is a switch between the 2 screw holes that you can move with your thumb. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hi trapperjack,

That looks like a turn signal switch. It should be mounted (with 2 screws) to the lower mast jacket of the steering column. That piece of stiff wire is a control cable that links it to the rest of the turn signal mechanism in the upper part of the column.

I think 62 was the last year for that style of signal switch.

That makes perfect sense. Looked it was supposed to mount to something round. and the column is gone. I'll cross that bridge when I find a new column.
Thanks Ray.
