corny or cool?
we have the 68 Camaro SS project that is gonna get painted the original grotto blue with black SS hockey stick stripe.
the 66 truck was to be painted the ford sterling metallic that i found thanks to bens dad. now today my kid asks if it would be cool to paint the truck to match the camaro? grotto blue with the black ss stripe. i'm just not sure if it would be corny having matching truck/car or cool. i'm on the fence about this one. really don't like his original choice of painting Univ of Texas Longhorn orange tho so, whatcha guys think about matching em up? |

Re: corny or cool?
I'm not sure the hockey stripe would translate well onto the truck's body. Just my 2 cents. The grotto blue is way cool though...
What about painting it grotto blue - but instead of the hockey stripe, adding side trim and painting the insert black instead of the traditional white?? (that's kind of a backwards hockey stripe, but I think folks would "get it" when they see the two side by side) |

Re: corny or cool?
if we don't do the ss stripe. there will definitly be trim goin back on the sides. i just don't think these trucks look finished without it. even with charcoal paint. we plan on doing black grill and insets in the trim. then color matched bumpers. he just came up with the matching paint thing today outta nowhere

Re: corny or cool?
Yes, paint inside the trim the black.
I even seen where others have painted the route the trim would take and didn't use the trim. So, that might be another option.

Re: corny or cool?
i agree , the blue is a cool color. and paint the inside the trim black. dont try to put the ss stripes on the truck. they wont look good in there. that would be corny

Re: corny or cool?
I think it would be cool if you were using the truck to pull the camaro to shows or something, even cooler if it were the yenko striping.
