header probs..

so im almost ready to takle my headers on my truck and i have come across an issue i want to clear up before i tear it all apart.

at the part store parts guy asked me if i had square or circle ports heads for the manifold gaskets.(i didnt know so i got both and ill take the other back)

got home and looked at my hearders and there oval.... i know there off a chevy truck as I know the guy and truck they came from. what gives?

The "oval" are for rounded style ports. Not a lot of header manufactures paid any detail to port shape and location for headers

Yeah you'll be fine...om my 75 my ports were oval, i ran round gaskets and never had a leak. Go with copper gaskets, a little more expensive but worth it. Remember, when tightening the bolts start at the center and work your way to the sides.

Yea you will be just fine running the round style gaskets. That's the way they were on my old truck had no problems at all. Good luck
