Window Felt causing me a headache

Hey Guys,
Just installed some nice looking window felts and have ran into some problems. I wanted to get a confirmation on the installation. In reference to the felt portion that runs on the inside of the window, does the end butt up to the weather stripping or run behind it? This would be on the end of the door nearest the door striker.

I intend to right up a review of the product, including price, part number, vendor ect, and wanted to make sure that Im not in error as far as the installation.

I cut mine so it butts up against the window channel. I just made sure it was a snug fit.

Ditto Here. It seems they are all about 1/4" too long. I cut mine too.

Is it possible to remove them without destroying them? If so, please share. If I can get them back out, I'll trim them down. My experience with removing the old felts is giving me the feeling that Im out of luck

Well I did put the first on on just like you did before I realized it needed atrim. I did manage to get it off trimmed and back on without damaging it.

I would put some blue tape on the edge next to the trim just in case something slips, Then if you cant "wiggle" it off go get the smallest .50 cent or some plastic putty knife from your local hardware and slip that between the door and the trim to try and release the clips. Try to avaoid the screwdrivers. They alawys seem to slip and mess up new paint.

I dont really have a choice, but to give it a shot. Thanks for the advice. I purchased mine from Classic Industries and will try and post a review for future buyers.

Got mine from GMC Pauls (Made by precision) Same Prob. Fit good now though.

Well, I got them out without much fuss. I taped it off and used a interior trim "pry bar" to work it out. Do you think that this should be something that Classic Industries should address or does a guy just need to suck it up and move on?

Classic Industries does not manufacture them. I believe they are "Repops" brand, made in USA, as I bought mine from them as well. They are the best fitting seals you will find, other than NOS.

It's probably best they be left a touch long.Some trucks may have just a touch longer space to fill.But the manufacturer and sellers should alert you so you can fit them before they are installed.

Agreed - I've installed a few and they are always long, but I'd rather have to trim them than for them to be too short.

With a little care I was able to get them back out and cut to length. I wasnt very optimistic about the whole thing, but it worked out. I feel kinda stupid for asking this... but is the rubber seal running along the outside of the glass suppose to angle up or angle down. Im guessing down since thats the current angle, but on one window the rubber wants to catch and roll up the other direction. And should I expect any kind of break in period as far as ease of rolling the window up or down?
