Fender shipping, help!
I want to get a fender shipped from Wichita, Kansas to Western Michigan and Greyhound is making a problem out of shipping the fender for a fellow board member. At this stage, I am looking for options or someone that is coming back from Kansas. If I could get it to Indiana, I could pick it up there. From my end time is not critical, but the board member has to clean up his place and is pressed for time.
It is a right side rear stepside fender. Any thoughts? Jim |

I've had two fenders shipped to me via Greyhound and had no problem. What is the issue? Size?

Have you tried FedEx? I bought 2 Chevelle fenders a few years ago and the seller put both in one big box and shipped with them.

He packaged the fender per Greyhound's instructions over the phone and when he went down to ship the package, they would not accept his packaging. There was a dispute, and he does not desire to deal with Greyhound. Under the circumstances, I don't blame him.

Fender weight is approximately 50 pounds and the rectangular box dimension needed for the fender to fit into would be 25" x 13" x 61".

I just sent a 1970 grill via post office. they will ship it. as long as it is under 75 lbs. the grill was only 10.00 to send. and arrived undamaged.
I'd give them a try.

I'd give them a try.

Jim check those dimensions they can't be right. 5' 1" fender on a six foot bed? If you can get it down to 54x25x13 it can go UPS. I would forget about a box and get some cardboard and tape and just wrap it in cardboard. And insure it in case they lose it or kill it. Fed ex will ship it but it will cost more. Don't know about the post office.

Tom,
I allowed approx. 1" for clearance at the longest dimension which is a the bottom of the fender and off of the bedside. I will try to check on the postoffice. Never thought of that! Jim |

Where did you ship a grill to that was only 10.00? We ship our GM nos grills in a 75x19x8 box UPS insured for 500.00 and it is never under 35.00 shipping even across the state. I might try USPS next time.
