It is not a truck but my 1981 Z/28 was $10,720 new.
My 1962 Olds Starfire was around $6500 new.

Hey Guys and Gal,
List anything you remember so we can laugh at the new prices!

I don't know about my truck because I never bought it new, but my uncle bought a 67 Chevelle Malibu for $3000.00. Of course you say laugh at the new prices, but remember, in 1967 people around my parts were lucky if they made $1.25 an hour, most made $.75 to $1.00. My first full time job, in 1970, I started off at $1.10, and only because I worked for my older brother. When you got a raise, it was $.05 an hour.

You could buy a real nice new house for $8000.00 to $10000.00. Gas was a quarter a gallon.

Oops, sorry. Remembering the good ole days there for a minute.

My 1986 2WD C-10 (model #CC10903) was a base price of $8,463. With Silverado options, extras, and a $475 dest. charge it stickered at $13,156. It was a demo unit with 1500 miles on it when my dad bought it so he got it at $11,792 + tax/tag/title. He got the dealer to throw in a bedliner for free as well.

Those were the days. The first new truck I bought was a 2001 GMC Sierra C3. You can take the first two numbers on the sticker price of my '86, reverse them, add several thousand more and that's what has happened to truck prices these days.
