There was a thread where someone did this. He ended up cutting the floor and a portion of the back of the cab out of each cab and grafted the Chevy cab onto the dodge floor so he could mount it to the frame. No idea what he had to do to make the bed fit. I don't know the dimensions of the dodge frame but you could always try to weld new perches on the frame to mount the cab but this will probably result in a body lift unless you raise the floor in the cab for frame clearance.

Re: chevy on dodge frame

The reason for wanting to put it on the dodge frame is it is a 1970 crew cab on a lengthen 1/2 ton suburban frame and it doesn't look very strong.
I am worried i wouldn't hold up to the cummins.

Re: chevy on dodge frame

Frame will be strong enough. Box it if it worries you. Swaping in the 5.9 is much much easier than swaping the engine AND chassis....

Re: chevy on dodge frame

I have not done a cummins swap but it will weigh about 1200lbs as opposed to 575 lbs of a small block. If it were me, I would do some frame boxing, heavier springs obviously, and make sure that all suspension and steering components were in top condition.
