Adding Upper Trim

Looking for measurments from lower trim holes to the upper ones. Somebody's got to have them. My truck currently does not have upper trim, and I thought whats an easier way to figure out the location of the upper trim than taking the distance from the lower to the upper? Help would be greatly appreciated as I'm getting very close to paint and really need that upper trim location for the paint line.

Picture isn't my truck, just a visual explanation of what I'm looking for.

Thanks all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Adding Upper Trim

I don't think I would use the location of the lower trim as a measuring point. I have seen some lower factory trim installed right on the body line, right under the body line and up to 1/4 inch below the dody line.

Re: Adding Upper Trim

Maybe get the measurement from the body line to the upper moulding.

Re: Adding Upper Trim

I agree that some factory equipped trucks have the trim all over the place, namely the front fender trim seeming to go uphill towards the front. When I installed upper and lower trim on a truck that was not originally equipped, here's how I did it: Install the door trim level with the lower bodyline and with the lock in place. Then install the cab corner. For the bed and fender trim, tape them in place and move the outer ends down until pleasing to your eye. If you install the trim dead straight with the door trim it will not look good. From the side it will appear that the ends are high.
