My 88 SCSB
ok so im doing a complete frame off resto on my 88' its a Basket Case right now. i am gonna put a 96' chrome grille, 96' dash and gauges, gonna run 3/4 or 1 ton running gears(not sure on which) with about 24''s of lift on 52"s!!! im gonna build a 383 to turn the monster of tires.. I havent decided on a color yet but its between Orange and Red. it will have strobe lights in all the lights, its gonna have shaved door handles with vertical doors on remote key. the taillights are gonna be shaved and its gonna have a roll pan replacing the rear bumper with LED strips in the pan for taillights and blinkers. gonna be a fun project!!! will post pics as i go and when i figure out how too!

Re: My 88 SCSB
wow that's really something.
I never saw an 81-87 frame on a 88-98 truck before. FYI those frames are known for it, but the newer 88-98 isn't from what I've seen, the newer frame is boxed that one isn't. may be why it cracks. How did they make the rest of the truck bolt up to the older frame?

Re: My 88 SCSB
no doubt man. I saw the bumper and thought hmm they made bracket for a squarebody/81-87 bumper on the newer truck, then I saw you had hacked frame and looked at pics lol.

Re: My 88 SCSB
it does when you get the SAS kit, most are made for 4x4 frames but they do have 2wd specific ones, not sure if there's any difference or not.
you doing a SAS, let me ask some questions, what gauges does it have for speedo and does or did it work? I ask because the 88 uses a vss or electric speedo, and the older t-cases use cable or what not. The newer cases with vss also have DS drop axles, not ps like the older gm's. If you want the speedo to work it costs money for adapters or you can use a mech gauge or what not. The 88-91 burb and blazers have a PS drop np241 that has the vss and would work perfectly, or you can use what you got, but using a PS drop t-case requires trans crossmember custom built or fab work to an old one and alot of it.

Re: My 88 SCSB
Well a lil change of plans my build is gonna be a slammer! Finally got the bed and the can off and changed my mind so now it's gonna be a 2wd with a 4/6 drop. I bought another 4wd that's pretty cleans. I have the bed on now and it's how the ride height is gonna be
