1 Wire Solenoid ?

just bought one of the small corvette style starter with one wire solenoid. what do i do with the other wire from the harness that goes to the outside post.....

change over to HEI distributor and you don't need the extra wire or you can just hook up a toggle switch to it to give your coil 12volts on start up if your sticking with points

Actually, you can piggy back the yellow onto the purple and get the same out come.
The purple wire is the signal wire from your ign switch. Turn the switch and a full 12 volts goes there.
The yellow wire goes to the coil to boost the coil up to 12 volts for easier starting.
If you piggy back the two, it'll work like normal.
But you'll be way ahead of the game if you install HEI and delete the yellow wire all together.

i have an hei on both trucks with a separate wire from the fuse block. i will get rid of the yellow wire. thanks....
