electrical issues

I have a few problems its a chevy 350 carb in a 64 frame.I have a yellow wire coming from the starter the small solenoid side. It went somewhere but came undone after sitting. It has a two prong end, and i cant figure out where it goes, does anyone know?
My second problem is similar. I had a ground on the fire wall and it came undone on what ever it was on. And im not sure where it went. What needs to be ground on this engine?
The truck was wired kind of messy by the previous owner and im not sure what im dealing with. Any advise would help.

Re: electrical issues

According to the wiring schematic at the following link, it appears the yellow wire to the starter solenoid goes to the positive side of the coil.

If the ground wire on the firewall is braided or heavy like a battery cable, it probably bolts to the back of the cylinder head. This is designed to help with grounding the body and dash instruments.

Re: electrical issues

Thanks for the reply and i will use the link for further problems. It turns out the ground and the yellow wire where useless. and the yellow wire on the starter was extra and shorting out the system.
