`83 fuel gauge problem

So my 83 C10 has dual tanks. I only use the left tankWhen I first got it the fuel gauge would`nt go past half tank. Now it wont go past 1/.4 tank. I decided to start using the right tank thinking at least the guage "should" work. Well it still only goes to 1/4 tank. Is it a sending unit issue or is my gauge bad?

Re: `83 fuel gauge problem

I had a problem on my 82 gas gauge with dual tanks. Regardless of wich tank it was on the fuel gauge would read 1/4 when the tank was full and read empty when the tank was empty. I install a new gauge and now it works properly.

Re: `83 fuel gauge problem

You don't have to remove the whole cluster to change the gauge. Just remove the bezel and lense to get access to it.
