Rear spring hangers
I am in the process of converting a 1987 1 ton 4x4 dually to a single rear wheel. This truck had Dana 60 in front & 70 rear. Axle ratio was 4:56. This truck has a 6.2 with TH400,I didn't need that heavy of a diff and wanted a higher speed axle as this truck won't be used to tow anything. When I went to mount the semi float 14 bolt in rear I found spring perches about 1" too wide on either side. I measured the hangers on my 86 3/4 ton 4x4 and they are about 1" wider. I took a set of hangers off a parts truck so axle will fit ok now. Just wondering if this is common? This truck was seen lots of changes before I got it so anything is possible.thanx

Re: Rear spring hangers
Yes all 1 tons have narrower spring width in order to run dual wheels and not rub the springs.

Re: Rear spring hangers
Ok,thanx. The build sheet in glove box says this truck was originally a 2wd single rear wheels, but the hangers may have been changed because the rivets had been replaced with bolts.
