Hey guys
Does anyone know for sure what the horn button on my 1970 K20 should be? Is it the "blue bowtie" or could it be "GMC" ? . Truck came with GMC and i just got an OEM "blue bowtie". But then it got me to thinkin, "Well maybe it did come with a GMC horn button as stock equipment" The line between GMC and Chevrolet is kinda blurry in Canada. Could I have a Chevy truck with a GMC horn button? It is a 4X4 3/4 ton "1" code 6700 m ![]() Made in Oshawa Ontario Thanks guys I know somebody out there knows!

Re: Horn Button for 70K20
It's pretty simple, Chevrolet's had the bowtie, GMC's had the GMC.

Re: Horn Button for 70K20
It is that simple. I think you may be confusing GM with GMC. GM essentially had two branches, Chevrolet and GMC, they didn't overlap. So a Chevy had the bowtie and the GMC had the GMC.

Re: Horn Button for 70K20
Ya, if all of your badges are removed, look for stickers. If you bought it with a title, it'll say on the title what it is. If all else fails, check the VIN like Delta9 said. If the vin tag is missing, check the frame (I'm assuming they stamped them).
If no markings are anywhere at all. Well it's whatever you want it to be. ![]() Ya visually they're the same, really only badges separates the two, trim levels. Generally speaking anyway, subtle differences, rare things that matter, for instance my V6 only came with GMC. I had a 86 K5 Blazer with a Jimmy steering wheel, but yes a PO put that on there. Yes you CAN have a Chevy with a GMC horn button, but only because someone else put that on cause it's what they found and threw on, it would not have came like that from the factory.

Re: Horn Button for 70K20
Tell us more about the truck and I believe we can eliminate any question as to which brand it is. But,if it's a Chevy it would have a bowtie on the horn button and if it's a GMC it will have GMC on the horn button. It doesn't matter where it was built, that's how they all were done. No Chevy trucks have GMC on them anywhere and visa-versa.

Re: Horn Button for 70K20
The picture in your signature page is a chevy, if that is the truck in question then you should have a bowtie horn button.
