Raising the Rear/New Bed
I'm wanting to raise the rear of my 62 LWB a couple of inches. What's the best way to do this? Also, I picked up a new bed and tailgate, I've never disassembled one completely - will the sides and back come apart without cutting any welds?

Re: Raising the Rear/New Bed
Everything will unbolt except for the angle strips that are spot welded to the bedsides. The have to be cut or drilled off.

Re: Raising the Rear/New Bed
To raise the rear, you might look into a set of new springs. The original ones have likely sagged in nearly 50 years. I believe CPP or someone else offers a set that is for Suburbans and Panels that are designed for more weight.
As for the bed disassembly, on a fleetside, the rear sill is welded to the bedsides in 2 places on each side. Other than that, it is all bolted together.
