Hey guys so i want to do an LS swap and have been doing a lot of reading. With the gauge cluster do i have to use the same year as the motor if i want new style gauges. For example i really like the 2007-9 gauges and would like to run those. However the motor i am prob gonna end up with is gonna be 02-04. Will the wire harness still allow me to run the newer gauges or are the plugs different? Thanks in advance for any help

Do you really want to mold the whole cluster from the newer vehicle in? IMO you can get the same functionality and sometimes even better performance from a setup of aftermarket gauges, plus it would be easier to fit in the stock dash. The gauges in the new trucks require a BCM, so you would also need to find a place for that, and the wiring.

BDM i assume is a brain basically?
Im not 100% set on it i just thought it would be cool to use the stock bezel and flush it into the stock bezel but have the new gauges to monitor my motor.

It would be hard to get the drivers information center to stop telling you what all systems are not installed in the truck. Dumb things like low washer fluid and such.

I used a Dakota Digital set up. They were easy to hook up to the PCM wiring and have everything you need including the check engine light, gear indicators, etc. They have the metric temp sender for the head and the oil preasure sender was tapped into the block off by the oil filter. Works great.

Your dash looks really nice. . . I love the digital, i was just trying to veer away from the norm. Maybe this will have to be a route to look into though. Thanks for the pic!

Have you seen the new analog digital? I really like them but figure it will be just like the digital now. A ton of people will also have them.

^^^ Those look nice, but I would imagine a little spendy. Also would be nice if you could change the color, amber reminds me a little too much of my Pontiac.

Ya they arent cheep by any means lol. And they have blue as well. i thought i attached that pic too? wont let me attach it? but they have blue lol
