Ashtray emblems?

1971 chevy. Putting the dash back together and there are two little holes on the left side front of my ashtray. I cant seem to find an emblem. Is there somethin that goes there or did the PO drill two perfect tiny holes for some odd reason?

Ideas?

That's an odd place to hang a mic,but probably was. If it was centered I'd think a P.O. put a handle or knob on it. Seen that done before.
