Vacuum Gauge question
I noticed that Chevy Duty has a new repo Vacuum Gauge for our trucks listed in their catalog for $79.95. Will this work in a cluster without an original vacuum gage without any modifications or with only minimal mods do you think? Which port on the carb do these hook to and if anyone here has a truck with an originally equipped vacuum gauge equipped truck, was this just rubber line all the way from the gauge to the carb or was it metal line most the way?
Thanks, Robert

Your inner metal plate needs to be correct to look factory. Otherwise you wont more than likely be able to cut it properly... I read here that someone had devised or knew of a press to make the correct bevelled hole.
See the pic for what I'm talkin about with the beveled hole missing.

As for where to plumb the hose, you'll want manifild vacume. A port directly off the manifold is preferable, but a lower port on your carb will work fine.

Mine has one that my uncle installed years ago. He get the cluster out of a 72 C/50 and plumed it with tiny rubber vacuum hose. He tied it in at the vacuum T at the manafold behint the carb...

An air dash inner plate would work... tachs are common in those clustrers.
