T5 rebuild question
Ok, been searching for-ever to find a five speed to stick into Emmet (my '63 C10 Fleet) and replace the old whining three speed. So I finally decided on a t5 from an '88 S10, not a world class, i'm ok with that, there just aren't any WC T5's around to be found. The S10 had about 200k or maybe more, it needs to be rebuilt.
QUESTION: how difficult is it to rebuild a NWC T5? Been turning wrenches on my own rides for 20 plus years but never got into a tranny. |

Re: T5 rebuild question
I rebuilt a couple of them when I was fooling with 5.0 Mustangs, they're easy, you'll need a press and/or some good bearing pullers, and get the service manual..

Re: T5 rebuild question
Hey T, that's kinda what I was thinking; I've watched a few different videos on YouTube. Let me ask you this, how do I discern what parts are bad and need replacement from those parts that are good to go for another 100k?
BTW thanks for the reply! |
