Re: lowering question

2wd or 4wd?

For a 2wd you can get some dropped spindles and then drop coils.. That will get you about 5" in the front. Then if you want to go lower you can alwasy swap the spring out for a air bag..

Re: lowering question

Rears are leaf sprung on 73-91's. You can use air bags but will have to do some fab work. Axle flip it and put the axle on top the springs, good for 5ish inches.

It is a 2wd. That is PERFECT! Do you know who/where i can purchase this kit?

I'd love to bag it but my bro in law had a duelly w/ that setup and it seems like way to much maintenance. I'm not very mechanically inclined, but trying to learn.

Re: lowering question

That's exactly what i'm looking for, thanks. My bro in law seems to think both springs and spindles will be too low. How much drop is everyone usually taking.... didn't know there was such a thing as too low.

Re: lowering question

you're not that far away from me. you should check out my build thread and maybe swing by and look in person. i've got 2.5 in drop spindles on the front and a axel flip in the rear. still deciding if i should get drop springs for the front or lift the back up a little as there are a few clearence issues with the front

Re: lowering question

thats what i'm talkin about. just too much money and maintenance for me to bag it. There is a local place in San Antonio that will bag it for 1300 but it wont lay frame. i think they want like 3k or so for that.

but i would love that fo sho.

Re: lowering question

The frame on the Ranger if I was to have a shop duplicate it would run me at least 10k. I had a friend of mine build it for me and he gave me a really good deal. The only thing left Ford on that truck suspension wise is the rear axle.

Bags aren't that high of a maintenance issue either.. If it's done right they will last many years trouble free..

Re: lowering question

Man!

Called a local place and they want $925.00 for the kit $1600.00 installed. They are telling me they will have to cut a c notch in the frame to drop the rear.

Re: lowering question

you don't have to put in a c notch but it is close on the rear axle clearance
