Emissions Removal 1971 C10
Anyone know if my gas mileage will improve if I remove and block off the vaccum line to the evap cannister? Im running a Crate 350 with std points and a quadrajet. Im currently only getting 10mpg but also don't want to impact performance or damage the engine. Any other suggestions on improving mpg? Thanks!

It won't make any difference whatsoever in your fuel mileage.

The best bang for your buck to improve mileage is a real tune-up. New points, plugs, wires, air filter, make sure mechanical and vacuum advance are working right, dial in the timing, professional carb rebuild. Tire pressure check, also make sure your brakes are not dragging. What gears are you running?
