Installing inner fender seals to firewall 1960-66 C10
If anyone has some good pics of these installed,Id sure appreciate it.Close up's of both passenger and drivers where the seal is visible.
Any good pics of the seals that go between the inner fender and rad support would be great as well. I have my old ones but cant make heads or tails of proper install for new ones.

Re: Installing inner fender seals to firewall 1960-66 C10
I'm seeing two different shapes available (maybe more). Which work the best?
http://www.usa1industries.com/produc...96&cat=&page=1 and http://www.steelerubber.com/inner-fe...eal-60-0667-45 And where do these go:

Re: Installing inner fender seals to firewall 1960-66 C10
The last two pics are fender closing panels. They attach to the rear edge of the outer fender and close up the gap there.
And the gaskets from steel rubber are the correct style for the inner to firewall

Re: Installing inner fender seals to firewall 1960-66 C10
Thanks - I got the truck in pieces and the PO had no idea how to disassemble/save/categorize and therefore lost parts. So I'm learning here. But it's fun

The Truck Shop in Orange now sells the upper and side metal fender closing panels.

Re: Installing inner fender seals to firewall 1960-66 C10
Does anyone have a picture of this seal installed?
Oh, never mind. I used the upper right hand search box (on this page) and found one when I went to pictures: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...2&postcount=22 Wanted to see the fasteners used. Okay I have it.

Sure is, not much written about it. I guess cause it's covered by the front fender extension.

Where did you find the weatherstripping that goes on the angle bracket?

Re: Installing inner fender seals to firewall 1960-66 C10
If your talking about this one then they are the same as the seal between the inner fender and the fire wall.
Many guys used floral shop floral staples, I used 1/16" galv wire and made mine. Major pain in the keester.

What about the metal piece like this? And what about the clips that hold them on.

The clips called 'retainers' in the drawing are the same for all of them. The wire 'staples' are the same also.

Re: Installing inner fender seals to firewall 1960-66 C10
Thanks for the info...Do you have any idea where I can buy the metal piece and the retainers...I called the Truck Shop and the guy I talked with was clueless because I didn't have part numbers.

Re: Installing inner fender seals to firewall 1960-66 C10
You’re right it’s a lot of fun I bought a roll of stainless steel Thai wire and made my Staples when I would cut the wire I would do it on a 45° angle that way it was nice and sharp like a needle and would go right through the rubber and if not careful you’re finger

Re: Installing inner fender seals to firewall 1960-66 C10
I also need to do the staple wire thing to the seals on the fender, radiator and such. Is 16 gauge wire a good fit for the holes already there? I was hoping to go stainless and found this but its 19 gauge

Re: Installing inner fender seals to firewall 1960-66 C10
Should work as far as size. The originals you can bet weren't stainless. If you take your time maybe use a needle nose pliers for the flat part and bend down the sides you can make em look just like a staple.

Re: Installing inner fender seals to firewall 1960-66 C10
I got staples from one of the usual classic car parts places. I think they came with the rubber seals. Then I held the piece in a vice and used a very small drill bit and held the rubber tight to the metal and drilled through the existing holes in the metal, into the rubber all the way through. I then used channel lock pliers to push the staple through and bend the ends over. They look perfect. I was dreading this step of my restoration but it ended up being pretty easy. Just be sure not to drill holes through your fingers!

Re: Installing inner fender seals to firewall 1960-66 C10
I had all the brackets that have seals on the powder-coated. Then used 3M super adhesive sparingly let them dry overnight, then did the stable install.
