Arizona scrap yard pictures

I had a chance to poke around a scrap yard for about and hour yesterday that has tons of interesting stuff in it. I only got to cover about a third of the yard, but I took a bunch of pictures since I'm not likely to be down that way again for a long time.

Most of the c10's were well picked, but it was still neat to see them all. Seeing all these old cars in such rough shape made me appreciate just how much work it takes for us to keep our trucks in proper order.

someones sweet pink caddy

This was in a 62 I think. I've never seen these before.

This was on a suburban, apparently the owner was not fond of the windows.

I thought this little honda was pretty damn cool

Decent looking bench seat (I've been on the prowl for one for a while now). I wasn't sure if it was stock or not. looks good though.

I loved this. So strange

I was hoping to find some AC components, but this was the only truck with that option and it had been thoroughly stripped

Re: Arizona scrap yard pictures

Well ,I saw the hood , grille surround ,grille and right vent glass I need. Just to be certain since this is my first time with the 64-5-6, truck stuff will fit the C60 with the exception of the fenders ,correct?

Thanks for sharing. Pretty amazing how many doors, hoods, and bumpers still remain.

yeah, that service truck was pretty legit, and in decent shape. its too bad they dropped that huge axel on the back and messed it up.

Thanks for sharing, you guys have no idea how lucky you are. Yards like that don't really exist around here anymore.
I love that "rocket car" thing. Stuff like that always makes me wonder how bored do you really have to be. Kinda cool though

Re: Arizona scrap yard pictures

Wow, alot of usuable body panels there. After what rustbucket66 went through with the aftermarket panels, anybody that is close to yards like this needs to go get what they can if they have the funds. We are losing old cars and trucks so fast right now with the price of scrap. A common thing in my area(MI-OH) is the junk yards are unloading what they have. We have a couple of yards that have turned into warehouses. No vehicles, just racks of parts. So the occasional broken interior part or special fittings are gone. I am now convinced to buy as much original stuff as i can find. Even if i have to rework it.

Re: Arizona scrap yard pictures

Whereabouts in Phoenix is that yard?

I saw so much stuff I could use. Did anybody notice that nearly all the trucks were white and many of them had the west coast mirrors? I was eyeing the white '64 with the camper shell. Looked pretty complete.

By the way, the Honda is a very early Honda 90, pre-Trail 90 to be exact. It was anywhere between a '64 and a '65 because of the shroud over the handlebars and the square speedo. It's got the long seat pan and the extra long rack, which denotes a street version. I've had a bunch of those things, they are a blast to ride and they still make parts for them!

Re: Arizona scrap yard pictures

NICE brown swivel/rocker bucket seat next to the 1 ton service truck, and, I definitely want that 4 door convertible with the headers on the tail fins, and the trans warp drive thruster engines on the trunk lid! I'd be stylin' cruisin' to and from town in that beauty.

Too bad that CT90 is so parted out, they make nice trail and pit bikes.

Re: Arizona scrap yard pictures

Yep, its Hidden Valley. I was down that way on a sky diving trip and happened to see the sign for the yard on the same road as the airport I was going to. Remembered someone said it was a good yard for older stuff, so I thought I'd have a look.

Re: Arizona scrap yard pictures

Maricopa.....Is that off the -10 Freeway on the west side of Phoenix? I have in-laws in Surprise, and I would love to visit that place the next time I'm in town.

No complete opposite...I wish it wasnt in Surprise thats where I'm at..haha

It's going south like your heading to Tucson. AS soon as you pass Firebird you take 347 South to Maricopa.

Looks very nice.. Need to head out soon before it starts top warm up...

Thanks for the pics!

Ya, the cab itself turned out to have a significant twist in it as well. Looks ok from the side, but when you look at it head on its baaaad.
