1991 gmc 2500 4x4 track too wide
I have a 1991 gmc 2500 4x4 heavy duty pickup the front wheel track is 4 inches wider than the back is this normal . All wheels and tires are the same and i can not see any mods . can any one help me . cms

It is normal, and not just on the IFS trucks. To the best of my knowledge, since the first factory 4x4 trucks, the front track has been wider than the rear. It is more exaggerated with the IFS trucks, however. Obviously GM believes their are advantages to ride and/or payload that result. Some mud runners use different offset wheels F/R in order to equalize the track as they say it runs faster. In most situations offroad, it seems to me sending the second set of wheels through a different route may result in more traction. Depends on terrain, though.

The front track width is also wider on a 3/4 ton IFS truck than it is on the half tons.

Last summer I read in one of the 4X4 mags that a corporate 14 bolt from a 3/4 ton van is wider. You may want to look into that. Joe Bob
