A few new pics of my 71

I just bought my 71 Shortwide 2 weeks ago and we had snow all last week so finally got it outside for some pics. As I bought it out of a estate sale I have no history on the truck other then it came from montana and sat outside here is Bend Oregon for the past 10-12 years after the PO bought it. The truck has a cowl hood, relocated tank and after some minor tinkering now seems to run pretty good. I ordered a 4.5/6 drop kit and some new wheels & tires so I should be able to get that started this week. There is so much info on this site "thanks"

Re: A few new pics of my 71

I believe those wheels that are on the truck are from a limited edition Tahoe... they may be worth a few bucks to the right buyer... post them on the 88-98 for sale section...

oh.. and thats a very nice truck too...

I was going to mention that too. I think they are a fairly sought after wheel, and definitely arent very common. I've seen some C/10's that look really nice with a drop and those wheels on. Nice truck, i like the cowl hood!

It does look good in the pics although the sun pretty much sucked the life out of the shine. Looks to have been a cheap single stage job, the white will get a little shine with polish but the other is toast. Luckaly my son is a painter and has done a couple prior jobs for me. Im sure we will wait till fall to blow it apart for paint. And yes I will pass the current wheels along.

Anyone have a recomendations on where to buy carpet kits?

Welcome aboard from the other side of the country (Central Florida). Nice looking truck. Sounds like this came from the estate sale that we all were looking at a while back (200 plus vehicles) in Bend, OR. If you are looking for carpet try stockinteriors.com, hard to beat their quality and price.

Yep, he had well over 300 vehicles, too bad he had more money then brains as most were purchased then just sat outside. Everything he has stored inside (around 125) were all bought by one person. Thanks for the info on carpet.

Re: A few new pics of my 71

IMO, your plans for this truck will turn it into the best look these trucks can have...unless you happen to be a purist. The two-tone paint scheme, and your trim package with a drop, new shoes etc..., will be stunning! Can't wait to see the "after" shots!

And Congratulations!

Re: A few new pics of my 71

just curious what size tires are you going with ? and are you planning on hauling anything ? if not you can do 6-1/2 in the rear without c-notching it will still have a slight rake but not a big one
