Need a good seam sealer

I replaced a section of floorpan on my truck project and now need to seal the seams. I thought I knew what I needed, so I went to Auto Body Tool Mart's website, but the wide selection has me second guessing myself.

I'll be using it to finish the seams on the floorpan and rockers. I'd prefer something with some elasticity so that it will sag into every nook and cranny, however; it's for the interior, so it needs to set up enough that it isn't sticky and gets smeared all over the place. It also needs to be paintable.

Which one have you had success with?

Re: Need a good seam sealer

I used this one on a couple projects. Went to home depot and picked up a few of those Plumber paste brushes for like 0.22 cents each. Paint over it both times. Good results.

Re: Need a good seam sealer

Go to the gutters section of Home Depot, Lowe's, Menard's, etc & look for: ------- wait for it ------ "Seam Sealer." It's packaged in caulking gun tubes.

We used to buy it by the case lots when I had a guttering business. Runny cr@p, but boy, would it flow down into the joints like at gutter corner sections, etc & seal them up. Had to be careful once you started a tube, because if you laid it down on a hot day, half the tube would run out.

Hardens up nicely to a spongy & flexible set after a few days.
