I just bought this truck less than a week ago. This is my first project it is my dream truck. All original everything (wood bed, inline 6, transmission.) only things that have been changed is the fact that it has been turned into a floor shift and has a removable liner.

Let me know what you all think! also there is some shifting problem...
and theres a lotta white smoke on start up. any suggestions on what to look for first?

Nice looking foundation! What are the plans? Stock resto or something a bit more modified?
White smoke usually means water in the cylinders. Might want to check the oil for milky foamy crud which would indicate a leaking head gasket. Maybe pop off the valve cover and check in there too for evidence of coolant leakage.

ive already started the restoration, i put a 68 bench seat in changed the valve cover gasket, tightend the shifter, changed all the spark plugs and cables. Im planning on changing the drums for discs and getting power steering, then flat matte blakk and chrome trim. replace the wood bed,and make it mildly modified.

im so excited haha

to the board... Great starter truck. I like the three speeds. I would say that the shifter probably needs adjusted.

Thank you all again! the shifting problem turned to be that the floor shift lever was wayyy loose, i tightend it and its golden, i replaced the valve cover gasket and no oil is leaking outwardly anymore but it still is having white smoke. now i need to save money for welding tools an air compressor and tools for it so that i can start really on the body. Does or Has anyone heard of "open shops"? where someone might pay a fee to utilize the tools and equipment in the shop?

I dont know of any shops like that around here ,your best bet is to make friends with someone with a shop and tools .Lots of people on here from your area that may be able to help you out .
