65 Chevy c10 questions
Im 16 and have some questions and could use some assistance. In the 4 speed top loader on the back of a 292, how do you remove the shifter from the tranny? Me and dad think that we have an idea how but we'd like to hear it from someone who can verify our thought. My other question is, can you use the stock intake for a 292 and still run headers? Anything will be helpful. May post pics of both soon for a visual reference.

Re: 65 Chevy c10 questions
You can use the stock intake, but you have to put a delete plate on the bottom & run either water or exhaust bypass in to heat the intake. The original intake is an integral unit with the exhaust/intake bolted together by three bolts. The exhaust has a spring that opens an internal heat riser that normally heats the intake. Id check with Tom Langdon, he has a web site for inline parts. Check with the inliners forum also.

Re: 65 Chevy c10 questions
Tom Langdon's has the delete plate for the factory intakes. He acan tell you how to plumb the intake to heat it also. He is a wealth of info on chevy inline 6 engines.
