what year is it?
hey guys i found some clean door panels at the junk yard but i have no idea what year the truck is. the headlight trim is the 73-78 style. i have a 75 chevy but the catalogs all say door panels are interchangable 73-76 only so i would be taking a chance that they were from 77-78. is there another way to tell what year this truck is? thanx hoping to get them tomorrow being that its 1/2 sale at the junk yard always trying to safe money thanx

I don't have any 73-76 door panel pics on file, but you can easily see the difference from your and my 77 panel pics below.

Re: what year is it?
i dont currently have any door panels which is cool with me cause i love driving my truck either way but the wife is getting tired of grabbing grease when she shuts the door lol. but its safe to say correct me if im wrong that the arm rest 77-? are long and flat while 73-76 are short and tall?

Your correct on that part but along with that, IIRC the length of the window crank shaft is longer on the 73-76 than the 77+. So putting 77+ panels on a 73-76 door will cause the handle to stick out away from the panel.

I thought it was just the opposite, if you try a 77 door panel on a 76 you will have to push the door panel IN to get the crank to fit/work

Re: what year is it?
That's why I typed "IIRC".....
See where the crank hole is flat on the panel Ken posted ? My 74 panel has a raised cone area around the hole, That's why I thought 73-76 were longer.....
