72' C/10 Deluxe
bought this as a replacement for our daily driver. story is that it was a one owner truck, (work truck for stucco) the original owner passed away and his wife drove it for a few years then it sat after that... 350 2-brl carb. with the auto transmission. only major rust is the very front passenger fender corner which is rotted out completely. the guy who i bought the truck from said he has an extra fender in perfect primed condition for 50 bucks.
i have 2 very good friends who both have C/20 2wd, and one is still going through the frame up restore so ill harass them plenty my better half has convinced me to do flat black for this truck. and i think i want the rallys left on it. NOTE! in the current picture it has paint on the windows and flat tires. i have since cleaned it up alittle and will be posting accurate pictures please any suggestions and help would be great. |

Re: 72' C/10 Deluxe
the shifter lever on the column is extremely loose, we will have to see if it can still be used or if im going to switch to a floor shifter. :/
ill need a new hood and front and rear bumpers but its still a great AZ truck. hopefully i can afford to paint it white and green again someday! |

Re: 72' C/10 Deluxe
thanks, motion is a huge improvement! but im afraid the tranny may have to come out and a floor shifter needs to go in. ill ask around and figure it out.
problem right now is the truck does not have reverse. and i am not sure what to do. also if anyone has any good leads on a carb, manifold combo for your standard chevy 350 would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 72' C/10 Deluxe
I had the same problem with my truck with the tranny shifter being real loose and I just adjusted the linkage. Also the actual tranny was hesitating to shift and I changed out the tranny filter and the fluid and added K&W transx and the tranny is shifting smooth now. Just some ideas.

Re: 72' C/10 Deluxe
On mine it would not stay in park and there was a nut on the back side of leakage that I put some penetrating oil and loosened and then got the rubber stopper on the other side of the far end. So my park actually said park on my indicator. I am sure there might be some help on the forum you can search and find pics. Hopefully that will get you started.

Re: 72' C/10 Deluxe
Check your fluid...... if the tranny is low on fluid the 1st thing to not work is reverse.

Re: 72' C/10 Deluxe
now onto the mysteries I'm unsure about!
i have 2 wires that come from my main cluster of wires, they are grey and black, both are live. both sequentially seem to be killing my battery (lasts 2 days tops) I do not know where they go or how to make them stop being live so they wont drain my battery as a side note my gas gauge seems to go from "full(empty) to waaayyy right(full)" i am not sure if its just turned or something worse. thanks for listening to my rantings. I need all the help and support i can get.

Re: 72' C/10 Deluxe
carb rebuilt! and window ready to go! except my day turned disastrous because i got everything done and running, then the battery died, and my friend who was going to help with the back window install bailed on me.... as most of you very well know its impossible to install the window by yourself. so i have to do it tomorrow after work.
as for the battery my alt. was to blame and i have a new one for a decent price of $44... i promise pics tomorrow and if anyone has a spare window regulator (driver side) please let me know.
