Gauge light question

i took my cluster out of my truck because none of the gauge lights were working, we checked it and they are getting power and i checked and changed all of the bulbs but when we put everything back in my truck they still don't work, any suggestions? i was thinking of using the led strips that i have seen other guys use on this website, thanks

Maybe broken ground connection in the print. How did you check them? voltmeter on the + ,and - lead to chassis. Or did you measure connection trough the bulb socket? If you grounded on the chassis you will only know that you have power, - might still be missing and your lights will not work.

chances are its the printed circut board..or its connections.. you need to check that

YA Im having the same problem. Gauges work but not the lights. If I figure mine out I will be sure to let ya know where my problem was. I have bought lights and a headlamp switch but been busy on the rear end at the moment so I havent had a chance to to look yet.

thanks guys, i'm not sure how my dad checked them but i think i have another printed circuit up in the shop and i'll try it out and be sure to let me know if you figure yours out '79 cause mine does the same!!

if they are leds do they dim, maybe they are in backwards
power at the plugs? test out of the truck

Woohoo I fixed my dash lights. After checking broke grounds and finding no power to the grey #2 wire on the plug. I finally decided to clean a ground I had been looking at the whole time but just kept looking for another issue. And wam, on come the dash lights.

ahhh, those pesky ground wires
