Some has one of these, I am starting to build another truck. looking for a factory v8 standard shift, short bed trailing arm rear end. Can be a non roller just want good rails. 5 or 6 lug doesn't matter. Not interested in any modified chassis ie. c-notches etc. Will travel to pick up, Thanks Chris

Re: WTB short bed V8 std shift frame

How far are you willing to travel? I am on the IL side of IN 25 miles south of I70. I have a 67 rolling chassis and a 72 frame that I can strip down. Both were V8 Automatics but I have a manual crossmember and the bracket that rivets to the frame for the clutch pivot. Not exactly what ou are looking for but let me know if you are interested and I will get some pictures. Thanks.

Re: WTB short bed V8 std shift frame

I have a Swb frame from a 68 the rails are good. It was a manual but the guy I got it from was converting it and took the crossmember out but I still have it. Its here in RI but in a few weeks I could send it as far as Virginia (if that was better) with a brother inlaw of mine.I too can send you pictures if your interested at all. Its a roller but the trailing arms are not very good. I can sell you just the rails or the whole thing complete or any combination you like.

Re: WTB short bed V8 std shift frame

Here are pictures of the 72 frame. I would sell this frame stripped down to the bare frame (only the riveted crossmembers left in) plus I will include the frame bracket for the clutch pivot and the crossmember for the standard shift transmission for $250.00 picked up. I should be able to get pictures of the 67 rolling chassis tomorrow after work. Thanks

Re: WTB short bed V8 std shift frame

I picked this up today. Dont be fooled by the paint the previos owner sandblasted and painted it but the job was sub par and why yellow I dont know. At least you can see the condition its in. They didn't even paint the bottom of the rails. The two rails are in very good condition overall and all the crossmembers look good too, very straight I dont believe its ever been hit. The place that is scetchy at all is in the last picture where you can see there is some rust between the frame and the brace up over the rear end. Sorry the pictures are all diffrent directions I cant figure out why the I pod does that. I can sell you as much or as little as you want of this frame. Just the rails and crossmembers, with or without the axle etc. LMK if you interested at all,how much you want if interested and I can price it acordingly. Thanks and if you want pictures of any areas or just closer let me know. Frank

I can check the gear ratio but I know I have 68 rear end with 3:73 gears in it that I could swap out it that one is better.

The story I was told on this frame was he had redone the frame for the cab he was working on and then shoved it outside for 2 years. At that time he said the brakes were completely new (wheel cylinders have not had fluid in them and now probably rusted up) It looks like it has had ball joints ect repl. (I do not know if being out in the weather would have hurt them, I would think it did not but unsure) Supposed to have new stock height coil springs ( they definatly do not look like the sagged out springs most have). Good set of swing arms. I do have the rear crossmember but for some reason they took it out of the frame. I am asking $550.00 without the wheels or $250.00 for the bare frame. Both prices include manual crossmember, clutch pivot bracket and SBC engine stands if you need them. Thanks

Re: WTB short bed V8 std shift frame

I pulled the cover and the gears say 11 41 so it is a 3:73 open carrier. I took some more pictures. I have more if you are interested. The springs look good all around and I would say they are new. The wheel cylinders have the plugs in the and have not had a brake line in them but I would guess the weather has ruined them. The swing arms do have some rust between the 2 halves. The rear of the frame has had brackets welded on it. The guy said this frame had a flat bed on it and they were the mounts for it. Let me know if you have anymore questions or want more pictures. Thanks
