WTB - front bed panel, Wood Bed Fleetside

I am changing over to a wood bed in my GMC. It is metal now and the front bed panel is a little rusty around the bottom, dented up, etc. Someone has put cheap bedliner in it and it's flaking off. I figure while I'm cleaning it up I am just going to change it over to wood floor.

I am searching for a good OEM, west coast (as rust free as possible) straight, front bed panel and the cross sills / supports to change over. If you have the strips too, .. just let me know what you have and how much you need for it. My zip is 37379.

Thanks.

Re: WTB - front bed panel, Wood Bed Fleetside

Bumping this one to the top .. still looking.

Anyone have any good wood floor stuff? I may just need to get new ones (?) I am looking for West Coast stuff but shipping may offset the difference in new ..

Let me know if you have anything.
thanks.

Re: WTB - front bed panel, Wood Bed Fleetside

I have all the pieces from my project truck (short fleetside) that I would sell as I am going with a steel floor in my project. The front panel is almost perfect....I did notice one very small dent in it but other than that it is straight and rust free. The previous owner sprayed primer over the whole truck but you can see from the backside that it is straight. Cross sills are nice and straight and rust free as well.....just need cleaned up.

Let me know if you're interested in any of the pieces.

How much for all of it? Are you willing to ship, or no?

Re: WTB - front bed panel, Wood Bed Fleetside

I believe I could ship via UPS.

I'd do $350 shipped for all 5 sills and the front panel.

Re: WTB - front bed panel, Wood Bed Fleetside

I'm thinking maybe Greyhound might be a little cheaper (?) I have a Greyhound terminal really close (where I usually ship in big stuff) 960 Airport Road Chattanooga TN.

Unfortunately, the nearest Greyhound terminal for me is 45 miles away.

Yeah, I could wait until Friday for payment. I'm in no big hurry.

Let me know.

Re: WTB - front bed panel, Wood Bed Fleetside

Would you still have the hardware used to bolt everything up? Your call on the shipping.. either way is cool. Could you post a pic looking along the length of the bed panel showing straightness?

Intersted .. absolutely. Thanks

Re: WTB - front bed panel, Wood Bed Fleetside

Here you go. It's straight....a real nice piece.

I'll go ahead and get a UPS shipping estimate based on the weight and dimensions in the next day or two.

Sorry, I don't have any of the hardware.

Re: WTB - front bed panel, Wood Bed Fleetside

Is that just surface grunge along the bottom edge? Something i could wire wheel and clean up ok? I know its 40+ years old.. just looking for a really nice one for my GMC.

Yeah, Duane if you can do it cheaper.. Jay Im in for 350 shipped. You can work with Duane on it if you want? It might save you a little bit. I deal with him a lot and completely trust him.

Duane tou may stull have it, but my zip is 37379 or dad could pick it up at a terminal or meet your driver along I75 / I24 or whatever works for you guys. Dad is retired so.. I can work something out

Guess, I'm a little confused. When you say to consider working with Duane are you saying that I could possibly ship it all to him to save some on the shipping?

Re: WTB - front bed panel, Wood Bed Fleetside

As I understand it, Duane owns and/or runs a trucking line. He has trucks running the major freeways and helps people ship larger items.. beds, cabs, etc. For example I could pay you.. Duane's driver schedules a pickup.. them he and I work out a place to meet for delivery.

If he has a truck coming this way it might be cheaper tha UPS (?).. either way is good for me.

No no no Chad... thanks for the props though! I barely own Heavy Metal Chevy's!!! lol I have a logistics company and freight team but unfortunately I do not "own" them. Long story short a family member is regional sales manager which is how I can get lucrative rates it takes most business literally a decade to establish. I love my fellow "truckies" so I try to help where I can. 'KEEP TRUCKIN"

Pulled all the pieces out and weighed them and they weigh right around 90 lbs. Should I go ahead and get a quote from UPS or did you have something else in mind Duane?

UPS's online calculator is estimating a total shipping cost of about $81.
