I can't wait to see how these look mounted. I had them blasted and dipped and thought they came out pretty good. I should have just bought headers but what the hell it is just a Goodwrench 260hp motor. Wondering what everyone is using for gaskets??

I've never used an exhaust manifold gasket on a small block Chevy.

Chevrolet never used gaskets when they built the engine and I never use them either. Gaskets are to try to make up for some warpage in the manifolds, but to me are really a leak waiting to happen. I run a large flat file over the manifold mating surface to make sure it is flat and clean and then bolt them on with never a leak. I also run the file over the cylinder head mounting surface.

ok I will try them with no gasket, it is getting closer, have new valve finned valve covers and the rest of the fuel system on the way and hope to button everything else up this week

PS How much torque do you apply?

Did you get the bolt from a local hrdware store? If so will you measure them and let me kno length etc please. Thanks!

I got them at Fastenal and did not see your post until they were already installed. They are stainless 3/18-16.

I hope. This one supposedly has 60K on it. It did appear to be true by how clean it was but I did not look at the bottom end. I think this one had set up for 6 years. I am waiting on a new gas tank and odds and ends.
