The 6" lifted 2WD 69 C-10, "Rustoleum Special"
I've had this truck since 2007, it belonged to my best friend who was killed in a motorcycle crash, when his folks went to sell it I offered to buy it and instead they gave it to me to keep his memory alive. We had originally been working on it since 2000, it was his first truck, and up until '07 we had already installed power steering, single pane windows, headers, flowmaster mufflers, and power brakes. Shortly after I got it I purchased the new grill, bumpers, rims and tires. Since then it has just kinda been sitting. Now I've got the motivation again and am hoping to get this thing finished by the end of June.
Here it is as of 2007, has about 3 coats of Rustoleum primer at this point Nasty old interior with a burnt out seat The Flowmasters Last edited by superhondaz50; 02-14-2018 at 02:16 PM. |

Re: The 69 C-10 "Rustoleum Special"
In 2009, my brother and I finished up the interior. It looks better now (2012) as it has new rubber on the pedals and the ac garbage is gone. We trashed the old seat and installed a $80 "new" set out of a wrecked 08 Chevy Silverado. I added some braces under the seat bolts so the seats wont eject through the window in a crash, New instrument cluster bezel, chrome, emblems, Kenwood radio mounted under the wheel. Installed a vintage looking tac. that actually works very well. Also serviced the tranny which is a NewProcess A833, "four on the floor"... The orange is the original color my buddy and I painted when we were 16, so it's gonna stay.

Re: The 69 C-10 "Rustoleum Special"
Skip forward to last month. I gutted all the AC and heating. And tossed out the old quadrajet manifold. If you want any of this stuff come get it!
Made my own heater/AC delete and painted the engine bay up a nice satin black color. I also installed a new Edelbrock EPS manifold, air cleaner, and cast valve covers. I felt it would compliment the headers, cam, and Edelbrock 4 barrel carb that were already on this old 350. Still a bit dirty but better... Last edited by superhondaz50; 03-12-2012 at 10:50 PM. |

Re: The 69 C-10 "Rustoleum Special"
As of the last few weeks, I took of the bumpers, grill, trim, etc. to start some body work. I saw the $50 paint job thing and am gonna give it a shot, I felt I should stick with Rustoleum since there is already so much on here!
Well here are the trim holes... I used some fiberglass to patch the holes from behind After the glass dried Then sand, sand, sand, all the nicks and ding too... After sanding I used some body filler on the holes. Let it dry.... Then more sanding! Then more Rustoleum primer, and I have a smoothish looking door! The driver side door is really hammered, and still wavy, it was pretty much made up of Bondo from the beginning. Stay tuned for more updates! Last edited by superhondaz50; 03-12-2012 at 10:51 PM. |

Re: The 69 C-10 "Rustoleum Special"
Reviving this thread. After several years I figured it is time to actually build this truck. I sold my Dodge ram and Yamaha R6, was able to pocket about $15k for this truck. I am literally replacing EVERYTHING. Not gonna be show truck, but is gonna be my jetski hauler.
Before teardown Dodge I sold Gutting it New shocks, Prothane can mounts, 1" lift spacers. |

Re: The 69 C-10 "Rustoleum Special"
Richmond 3.73 rear, final install tomorrow, will also have a Spartan locker.
At some point in time, the rear axles we're replaced with 73-87 5 lugs, way too long. Replaced them with the correct length Mosers. Rebuilt brake stuff while I'm there. Last edited by superhondaz50; 03-02-2018 at 10:48 AM. |

Re: The 69 C-10 "Rustoleum Special"
You can see the gaps in the fender to door, the hood is misaligned too. That's what happens when you meet a parking lot light pole while doing donuts
