3/4 ton coil springs?
Does anyone have a rough overall measurement on 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton coil springs? Currently rebuilding my front suspension and think i have bought used 3/4 ton coil springs. Thanks and God Bless

These are stock 1/2 ton springs, about 14in tall.

Thanks! Mine are roughly the same, i have 3 inch drop spindles but don't have both sides together yet to be able to tell how low its going to sit, will go into further details in my DD build thread i'm starting soon. Thanks again

Just remember , No two coil springs will compress at the same rate. There are multiple factors like age, coil diameter , not to mention the spring rate. which cannot be measured by overall length out of a vehicle.

I just went through this with my 85 C10 as I'm rebuilding the front end. Had a hard time trying to figure out which springs it had. There is no absolute definition of which front springs you have by it being a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton. It's more dependent upon the brakes / engine combo. Some 1/2 tons had the HD springs and some 3/4 tons had the lighter springs. They BOTH have almost the exact same overall height. I used my micrometer to determine which ones to purchase as the bar diameter is the tell tale sign. Turnes out I had the HD springs.

Yea and thats just relacement sets. The a/c rides have heavier right spring than non a/c rides, the left usually heavier for power brake and power steering rides vs all manual setups

That was the answer i was looking for! Thanks alot everybody, turns out i have 1/2 ton springs for sure so hopefully i won't have to cut any with the drop spindles i have. Will be posting pics and progress soon, been a long week!
