Door Hinge Shims?
Did these trucks possibly come with them?
Reason I ask is because currently the bottom of the door sticks out about 1/4 inch from the rocker. On the hinge adjustment, the bottom hing is all the way in towards the interior of the cab and the top hinge is all the way out, yet when i close the door all the way (striker not in there currently) the top of the door hits before the bottom. Only way i can see to kick the bottom in any more is to kick the top out, hence asking about shims. |

Are you adjusting the Hinge at the door or at the jam? There is a lot of adjustment in the hinge so I am not sure if shims were added at the factory or not. I do know that when I worked in the body shop, shims were used do adjust the doors where the jam was slightly moved.

Ive had 3 original 66's and no shims on mine. They should have plenty of adjustment. I think that the hinges are all the same. Meaning you can swap them. Im not totally sure because i dont have mine handy to compare. Put them side by side and compare them.

Take a carbide burr and slot out the bolt holes for more adjustment. I had to do it on a '65 to get the doors adjusted perfectly.

I had a simialar problem. Tried shims, slotting the hinges and nothing cured it.
Finally I took a 2 X 4 and small sledge and gave the hinge post a good whack to knock it in. Reassembled the door and hinges and it fits perfect now.Sounds crude but it worked. I figured somewhere in its life the door was exposed to some extra stress that caused the problem. regards

Have noticed this before on the drivers' side, especially- where maybe the the door check failed and the door opened up into the fender- it can tweak the hinge post. it doesn't hurt to try swapping hinges top to bottom even tho they should be the same....
