Carb Spacer Question --Gaskets?

Hello Chevy land!

I have had a warm starting issue for the past 6 months, and finally broke down after a lot of troubleshooting and purchased a 4 hole x 1" spacer from Edelbrock (phenolic). It did not come with any gaskets.

1) Is that how they normally come?

2) Do I need gaskets to sandwich the spacer?

3) If I do need gaskets which ones work best?

I am curious because I was wondering if the Phenolic material will conform to both the intake and bottom of the carb?

Thanks for any ideas/help you can give.
